From MR-G, the top of the G-SHOCK lineup, comes a new limited-edition model that combines the finest in traditional Japanese crafting with the latest that technology has to offer, including Bluetooth, GPS and solar power. The bezel and band center segments are created using traditional Japanese tsuiki metal hammering that has been used in Japan for centuries in the production armor, copperware and other metal implements. The mallet and special chisel used for this technique leaves marks that create a distinctive pattern on the metal. Since this process is done by hand and no two items are exactly the same and each one reflects the personality of the craftmans who creates it. The bezel, back cover and side metal plate feature a new blue diamond-like coating (DLC) that gives them an indigo colouring often found in traditional Japanese artwork. The metal is finished with a painstaking hand process that brings out hues of delicate grace and beauty. The watch also is engineered to provide the very best in timekeeping accuracy that modern technology has to offer. It can receive time calibration signals from transmitters around the glove and GPS satelite signals and it can connect with a phone via Bluetooth acquire time information. Only 500 of these Japan pride timepieces will be made available worldwide.
* GPS radio-controlled solar combines CASIO's own solar power charging system, positioning using a Global Positioning System (GPS), and reception of time calibration signals around the world.
